Mabuza: They don't like me because I'm a village boy

Newly appointed Deputy President David Mabuza has lashed out at those questioning his suitability for the position‚ saying his name is being smeared because people don't want to be led "by a village boy".

Mabuza has for years faced allegations of being involved in the political killings of his opponents in his home province Mpumalanga but he has never been charged by law enforcement agencies.
"These smear campaigns started in 2009‚ the moment I became premier because people did not expect a village boy becoming a premier‚ they would not accept it‚" he told journalists.
                      
"Since 2009‚ it's now 2018‚ nine years later‚ they are still talking about this thing and now I'm deputy president‚ probably you'll talk about these things until I die."

How is this possible? So now our background will determine our future. I am so confused right now

    😂 i think people are still traumatised by our former president so they dont want anything to do with people from rural areas and presidency. LET OUR PEOPLE HEAL FIRST then elect a village boy.😂

    these people are so unfair because being a village boy or not is not a qualification......so people need to consider his qualifications for this job

    People are so wrong, they're jealous.
    Why the he'll would you judge a person by his background?
    So this means that we can't be Managers and CEOs in organisations because people are gonna say that they won't be ruled by a village girl like me... for the why??

    I think people judge Mabuza according to his background and they don't expect someone from a poor background to be in high positions.

    I am not surprised that his is judged because of his background, that is what is happening everyday. We are "supposedly" not fit to have some things because of where we come from, those things are for their own people and not us Blacks or should I say poor blacks. This world!!

      Good point, if your past is quite bad it will also influence your reputation. You can't just illegally chow people's money and expect to gain their trust again.

    These has nothing to with where he comes from people can't accuse you of something you didn't do unless they have profound evidence and they want justice for that!
